Call for Workshop and Tutorial Proposals

  • Proposal Deadline: January 6, 2012
  • Notification of Acceptance: February 15, 2012

MICCAI 2012, the 15th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention, will be held from October 1-5, 2012 in Nice, France (www.miccai2012.org). We invite proposals for MICCAI workshops and tutorials to be held on October 1 (Monday) and October 5 (Friday).

The purpose of workshops is to provide a comprehensive forum on topics that will not be fully explored during the main conference as well as encourage the discussion of technical and application issues in depth. The goal of tutorials is to provide students, clinicians, and new researchers, with background and material in specific topics covered by the conference. We also welcome "Challenges" which are workshops aiming to compare new and established methods on common data sets.

MICCAI 2012 organizers will collect workshop / tutorial registrations and fees, provide facilities, arrange catering, and distribute electronic copies of the workshop / tutorial proceedings.
Proposals must justify relevance and viability of intended workshops / tutorials to allow competitive selection. More specific guidelines on how to submit a workshop/tutorial proposal are available in the Workshop Guidelines.

Specialized topics to be addressed in MICCAI workshops/tutorials may be sub-topics of the main conference topics, or may be computational or clinical aspects which cross-over several of the major conference topics.

  • General medical image computing
  • Computer assisted interventional systems and robotics
  • Visualization and interaction
  • General biological and neuroscience image computing
  • Computational anatomy (statistics on anatomy)
  • Computational physiology (virtual organs)
  • Innovative clinical and biological applications

Detailed information on the major conference topics is available from www.miccai2012.org

Proposals and any related questions should be sent to workshops_miccai2012@lists-sop.inria.fr .
